Comment by One dropped for me in Heroic Mana Tombs. Not sure if they drop in non-heroic. Comment by The best ways to get these is from the daily non heroic quests where you will get 1, and you can do heroic Mana Tombs. In heroic MT there will in most runs drop between witch means you have a great chance of getting atleast 1. When you are so lucky to get em you can use em for the quest where you deliver 5 and then get another quest.

If you do the whole chain you will end up with a permanent Yor a "bonus" boss in heroic MT, who drops some nice rings key. You can also use em at the prisons in Netherstorm. They are just west of Manaforge Ultris. You can see the camp on the map mushroom looking things. There are prisons and you just step up to them and use you key.

Now either it will spawn a mob who can drop some pretty desent things blue rings and good greens or a faction guy will spawn and give you rep with his faction. Tag witch you can deliver at the camp north of where you are and get Consortium rep.

Comment by Irulan These are BoP so send them to an alt that needs rep with consortium. Can anyone confirm whether they do or not? Additionally, if you do get a Mark of the Nexus king from the Stasis Chamber mob, does summoning and killing Yor provide any reputation to Consortium?

Comment by Doomhawk Heroic Mana Tombs is potentially a great way to get these keys. I was the only one in my group who had the Consortium rep to even see the keys, so I walked out with 8 of them, plus the rep I earned from the instance itself.

Very nice for someone working on Consortium rep. Comment by alcy Just tested this, we were 5 Guildies who did the quest, went to use the keys together. This happened 3 times out of 5, with different factions. The 2 times it didnt spawn a prisoner, was a mob that dropped green.

Gave it to the keyholder. The mobs you fight are guaranteed to drop a blue BoP or a green BoE! Comment by alcy Has the droprate been changed? Is ther a pre-quest in order to loot these from mobs? Comment by m3teeh I have been digging around for a while now.. You get one of these keys and you go to Netherstorm. Around 54,39 or that general area , you use the key to unlock one of the prisons there.

You will then either get a hostile mob or a friendly one. There are the quests to get five keys, but I have yet to figure that part yet. Comment by clouds Like some people said before, you can get these from doing the daily instance. He is also near the on that gives out heroic quests. These keys open the prisions, usualy bring out a monster that you have to kill. The monsters drop either a blue or a nice green quality peice of armor. Easier than hovering your mouse over each and every mob just to find the jailor.

Five minutes later: I now have two more. Comment by confirmed I went back to get 5 more for the follow on Might want to see if you can get 10 to drop.. Comment by darksoul if your exalted with the factions which you can get rep from opening the prisons, those npcs wont come out, i was only grinding for consortium rep and am exalted with all the other factions that this key gives rep for and only got the consortium trader and mobs to kill for tags so if your only wanting consortium rep make sure your exalted with the other factions.

Just my two cents. Comment by Obviously No one has pointed it out yet. But if you are looking for a Prison ground you can find one at The function of these seems to have been tweaked a bit. The other 2 spawned previously mentioned reputation-yielding NPCs.

Comment by kronchev Killing the creatures released from these prisons seems to no longer give bonus rep to level 80s. I just did 9 and not a single one gave any kind of rep on kill. I am not exalted with any Outlands faction. Comment by bezerker08 I was exalted with all BC reputations but Consortium and did this 21 times in a row. Ethereum Prisoner I. Tags Consortium will be my 39th exalted and Tranquillian is next.

EDIT: Not sure why this is downvoted? I was providing information for other rep farmers. Comment by Isiwien Just did this 34 times in a row. Got: 2 Sporeggar. Comment by vazhkatsi you get rep from turning in the i,d. Comment by Drahken Does anyone know the approximate rate for mobs vs friendly npcs?

Over the course of grinding Consortium rep, I opened probably 25 of these cages, and only one of them was friendly. Of course, it was with Sporegarr, the faction I was already maxed out with. Are these results typical or am I just really unlucky? Takes about 25 minutes. If you skip the bosses, you can run out and reset. Comment by this is the worst part for me as i only have one quest left for my loremaster outland achievement and thats the one for the mark of the nexus-king.

I had already completed the level 70 daily instance quest earlier for my last key for the previous quest-not knowing that turning them in did not count : following the comments, and thinking being a level 80 paladin i should be able to solo hc mt-that would be a no-managed to gain 3 keys and down the first boss solo-but 2nd boss is proving more difficult.

Bear in mind-its hc so my advice do this and then gain another 5 keys in case the first boss does not drop the mark. Comment by 2. Comment by I was looking for these keys as part of the quest A Thousand Worlds and I tried farming for them on Netherstorm.. At lvl I have just done Consortium to exalted and here is precisely what occurred.

At this point in time i had never looted a key. I figured that the drop-rate might be higher if your on a quest that requires that item, it appears this is the case. Outside of mana-tombs all my keys were looted off Ethereum Nullifiers. I found mana-tombs heroic to be by far the best way of farming reputation with the Consortium and believe Ethereum Jailors may have been removed from the game.

Comment by Proven after many hours of farming, that these jailors no longer exist, as well as the enemies that supposedly drop them in Arcatraz. Comment by dakota3 I had a hard time finding out how to turn these in to get the rep. Whilst grinding rep with the Consortium, I had some of these items drop from mobs in Heroic Mana-Tombs.

You will need to complete the quest using the keys and hand it in to Commander Ameer after which it turns into a repeatable hand in. You will get approx rep for each turn in after the first one. For more info on completing the quest which for some reason I found a bit confusing , refer to my post in the comments on the quest Ethereum Secrets. Comment by By far, as of the 4. You can only kill the bosses once every 18hrs but the instance will respawn the trash which drop the keys.

Since as an 85 you can solo the place pretty easily, you can get 12 - 15 keys by resetting and re-running this place a bunch of times. If you are a miner you also get the adamantite nodes, and an occasional Khorium node when it resets. You can skip the bosses and just clear the whole instance from mobs, after last boss you get a shortcut to the begining of the instance, making it very easy to clear - get out - reset.

Happy hunting! Comment by aaglo Last night I had an insane heroic Mana Tombs -run when it comes to ethereum prison keys. I looted 10 keys from the corpses in a single run In approximately 45 minutes of farming I gained 3k rep rep per turn in of 10 Zaxxis Insignia , Netherweave Cloth, 45 gold from looting, numerous vendor trash items g each, and had 8 prison keys.

Tag 8, rep 32 turn ins Tag drops off the mob inside the ethereum prison bubbles at Manaforge Duro. You must tag these mobs to ensure a I. I had a Comment by Random To get the keys, in order to grind rep or get xmog gear - you need to start with A Mission Of Mercy but you need to be honored first with Consortium to get the quest to get keys. Well, there are quests in Netherstorm and Nagrand, and you can run Mana Tombs normal and heroic to get rep up. In reality at this time, starting at Neutral, you could do a couple runs of Mana Tombs and the quests in Netherstorm and this one should open up for you.

Then follow this quest chain and you will start the key drop. Comment by hrurufna Me and a buddy have been farming these for a few days now for BC rep, but i have a question. Any Idea Why is this? Or Does it stop if i am at a certain Rep area?

Comment by never00 Consolidating into one post: When opening the Ethereum Prison, you have a chance of hostile mob or a captured friendly prisoner to appear. There is a moment right after channeling the key that the mob will be shown as friendly, even if it is not.

It cannot be attacked or attack you until after it becomes hostile. The hostile mobs are all level 71, and has a chance to drop a random green or blue item and the Ethereum Prisoner ID Tag needed for a quest. Wowhead does not have a loot table on them for some odd reason. Though these hostile mobs can be spawned repeatedly, only one of each can be up at a time.

For example, if several people are opening the prisons at the same time, it is possible that all of them could get Malevus. But, each time that Malevus is summoned, the game will unsummon the others. If you flee or use an ability to drop aggro from the mob, it will return to its summoning point and despawn within 5 seconds.

It does not drop any loot if it despawns of course. The captured friendly faction member will praise you, and promise to tell everyone that you rescued them. Anyone in the bubble will get the rep. They can be found on the AH cheaply, or you can have an alt or friends run Heroic Mana Tombs for them as they are not soulbound. The drop rate everywhere else is supposed to be really low.

Not every prisoner will yield an ID. Some will give rep for other factions. Of course, YMMV. I have completed exalted faction on 4 out of the 6 available factions through Ethereum Prisons opened. Since this was a F2P account, I had no access to guild or rep banners.

So instead of getting rep per prisoner released, I gained Some quick math. Technically, Sporegarr is already completed as I farmed mobs in Zangarmarsh already - but I did include the Sporegarr prisoner numbers in this post to offer a complete data set. Based solely on key turn-ins - I would be lacking faction 10 prisoners for Keepers of Time and faction 8 prisoners for Sporegarr.

Of total prisons opened 1 key per prison I have released a total of prisoners, for a prisoner spawn rate of Below, I have posted my count of prisoners released her keys. I have currently turned in keys. To complete the last faction needed Keepers of Time I estimate I will need another - keys. On average, I see 2 prisoners per keys turned-in of any one specific faction. With some luck I might finish KoT in keys. With really bad luck I might still need another Keys are best farmed in Mana Tombs Heroic.

Your lvl 90 must have completed the quest A Mission of Mercy and must also already be honored with Consortium before any keys will drop for you. Do not kill any bosses. Every mob in the instance has a chance to drop keys, except for Mana Leech. You can kill the leeches if you want the vendor trash. When I first started farming, I would do a complete clear and reset on my lvl 85 feral every minutes - body pulling all trash up to a boss, then stopping and killing.

There are 3 bosses, so 3 total pulls. Luckily there is a vendor just outside the instance. After a few runs, I was able to find nice, efficient routes to pull everything. I got down to consistent 4 minute clears per run so 20 minutes for the 5 clears.

My fastest time was 18minsec approximately for all 5 clears. I had an average of 5. After the keys are farmed they have to be turned in. I could pretty easily complete keys an hour on turn-ins. But using this info, here is the expected time commitment for this grind: 4 Minutes per single Mana Tombs clear 1 Minute for vendoring, mailing argent gruntling , etc - one time at the end of each 5x Mana Tombs clear 21 Total minutes per 5x clear Total recorded 5x Mana Tombs clears I was able to AH a few keys here and there.

I estimate another hours from the leftover so: 60 Total estimated time commitment hours grinding BC rep One nice side effect - I estimate I made around k gold from the farmed cloth, recipes, DE mats, etc. This may be intentional, it may be a bug, never the less its a fact. We were so impressed we plan to do this again. This is faster and easier rep than running instances. Comment by Allakhazam these sell nicely.

The rest of the time, you get a mob that gives no rep, Cenarian Expedition rep, or even Sporeggar rep. I got 4 of these out of about kills while farming Zaxxis Insignias at The Heap, for Consortium rep. None of the mobs they spawned gave Consortium rep, and only one dropped anything rare: the Sporeggar elite, which dropped a craptacular BoP shadow resist cloak that I vended. Also, only 2 of the 4 dropped I.

Edited, Sep 14th am by Flackbash. Comment by Allakhazam seems to be a random drop off any mob in the proving ground. Comment by Allakhazam The droprate seemes to be very low for some and very high for others. And, also when I opened the prisons two! Cloth feet with healing, stam and int and a ring with Spell dmg and healing and stam and shadow ress. Comment by Allakhazam Finally got one today.

Killed around 20 of the guys on the same island as the prisons, then went to farming Zaxxis. Three kills later, a second key dropped off a Zaxxis Raider. Two kills later, a third key dropped off a Zaxxis Raider. Comment by Allakhazam 68 netherweave, 2 healing potions, 1 mana potion, 1 staff, 1 set of shoulderpads, 1 helmet, 1 belt, 5 cheese, 8 water Comment by Allakhazam hi all!

Comment by Allakhazam I farmed the ethereals south of area 52 at The Heap mainly to get consortium rep. I farmed over 10 of these keys there in a relatively quick time because they are all melee mobs with low life. As a side note, turning in 5 keys to get a prison cell key in blades edge nets you consortium rep per turn in.

Comment by Allakhazam Have 8 for sale on Shadowsong - Alliance side. Can transfer to horde. Comment by Allakhazam Man I got 7 of these things in like 20 kills the other day. For once the drop rate seems to be bugged in my favor. Comment by Allakhazam Ran Heroic mana tombs 3 times ended with 19 keys, more dropped but you roll on them so I lost some.

Comment by Allakhazam wow all you guys complaining must have really bad luck. This is an excellent source of consortium rep. I noticed far better luck farming at night when player pop is low, but thats always the case with anything. Comment by Allakhazam Try removing them from your keyring. You should be able to auction them if they are in your normal bags.

Edited, Jul 14th pm by Riyan. Comment by Allakhazam I keep seeing these drop in mana tombs and everyone else can roll on them except me. Comment by Allakhazam I have got two keys so far and both from Ethereum Jailor lvl 71, about 13k hp. Edited, May 23rd pm by DrownedSpinebreaker. Comment by Allakhazam Best is by the heap.

And they are lvl and not 70 in the other area. Plus you get the Zaxxis Insignias. Comment by Allakhazam Seems you can no longer AH these keys. Blizzard really wants to put a damper on things. Level 71, non-elite. Very easy to kill. Not a good sample set, but the droprate seems to be good. I may have just been lucky. Edited, May 22nd pm by blupache. Comment by Allakhazam the mobs from heroic mana tombs have good drop i cleared it and droped about 10 keys in 1,5hours or less. Comment by Allakhazam Killed mobs according to my UI for 2 keys..

Comment by Allakhazam why is it that when these drop, only certain ppl can roll on it? Comment by Allakhazam over mobs, 1 key off the probably 25th or so Comment by Thottbot Alright so after spending 5 hours doing this and turning in about 9 id tags I went and did some research and found that until you are revered with the consortium, all that these keys and id tags will do for you is give you rep. This then leads onto a further two or three 5-key quests which do require 5 man groups to run up until you get a last one to go into shadow labs and use a master key made from these to summon another guy, possibly in heroic only.

The guys you fight all drop a random enchantment blue item. As far as keys, they are dropped randomly by pretty much any ethereum guy around Manaforge Ultris, about a 1 in 50 shot based on my farming. He is pretty tough though I found him at 58,49, but i cant find him again. Comment by Thottbot yep, while grinding for Z sig 70 an hour,10 for rep of Consortium , I was getting keys dropping an hour.

Plus greens. Plus about 12 silver per mob. Comment by Thottbot They keep droping when you hit revered. I smell a stealth-nerf. Comment by Thottbot Best way to get these in my opinion is by farming them in The Heap. The drop rate is poor no matter where you farm these. Expect to spend a good few hours getting 5 or so keys.

Good luck. Spent an hour or so doing the quests at the staging grounds, got 1 key. An hour later, not a single key had dropped. Firt 10 kills yielded two keys. Over the next hour I got 70 insignias, and another 4 keys. The Heap is the best place to hunt for keys. The bad prisoners always drop something, sometimes a rare.

The good ones give you some random faction you probably need anyway. Comment by Thottbot Wanted to verify that they do drop in the Zaxxis mobs at Honored reputation; I think the only prerequisite is to gain the quest to get them in the first place. Comment by Thottbot What is the quest to start recieving these keys? Ive done lots of consortium quests and still no Keys are dropping for me. Comment by Thottbot Sometimes they are in AH!

Happy Hunting! Comment by Thottbot Ever since patch 2. Just do normal instances. Pretty good to do them for the gold aswell. Comment by Thottbot Anyone know if patch 2. Yesterday I got 50 zaxxis insignia and only 1 prison key dropped - previously I would get 3 or 4 in this time. I was farming for insignias, but seeing as one key usually equals 10 insignias, I got off lightly for the last stretch of rep-farming.

Comment by Thottbot Can anyone confirm that the droprate for these is higher at The Heap vs. Save these, do not turn in for rep. Run Heroic Mana Tombs for faster rep. Plus there will be at least 6 of these dropping in H-MT. My question is, after exalted, what is the best place to farm these? They sell well. I wonder if having the quest in your quest log increases your drop rate of them? After I turned in the quest, I farmed for 35 minutes before I found another key.

But I think I may have been just lucky. The second one was a named mob that dropped a pretty nice lvl 70 BoP blue. Comment by Thottbot They drop very well at the staging grounds. The price has dropped from 35 to about 20g each. Comment by Thottbot Only ever used the keys on the chambers which have the mobs in for the items - always thought the rep bubbles were pointless - rep for a super rare key no thx Comment by Thottbot What exactly does one have to do to make them drop?

I hve killed more then with no drops what so ever Comment by Thottbot "The keys open the Etherium Prisons. Each prison has a chance to summon a different named mob or a random friendly npc that gives you rep with their faction" As someone posted above, I believe this is the main reason they are 30ish gold on the AH.

The keys give more rep then handing in the 5 for the Q, for a card. Comment by Thottbot Mana Toombs has been the easiest and fastest way to get the keys for me. Comment by Thottbot Okay, straight up if you want to farm Consortium rep with these keys get then farm Zaxxis Raiders, they have a way higher droprate, plus you can get Zaxxis Insignia for more rep. Im exalted anyhow , farmed Zaxxis insignias by the dozens till i got to it just for the monthly gems bag.

Anybody got them to drop keys? View in 3D Find upgrades Quick Facts. The Consortium Reputation Guide. Please keep the following in mind when posting a comment: Your comment must be in English or it will be removed. Unsure how to post?

Drop rate similar to Etherum mob. The first three yielded a mob to fight. She said, "Blessed Light! Free of my confines at last Thank You, hero. Then she disapppered. Comment by As a note, you HAVE to have done the quest for the salvaged key to get this one to drop. I started this on my mage gotten the salvaged key , then decided to use my shaman to collect the keys As my shaman has an epic flyer , however when I fought I Jailor I did not get one. After quickly doing the salvaged key quest, however, I started getting these keys on my shaman.

The prisons contain a number of things. Often its an aggresive mob that you can kill for a prison ID, but they can contain friendly npcs that give you rep with one of a few different factions. I have find my first of an Ethereum Avanger. The best way to find these keys are to kill the lv mobs around Mana Forge Ultris on the Voidwind Platueas. Comment by These keys are for a chain quest line After u complete that, u must now get 5 more keys to summon a 5 man boss that has a chance to drop a mark that u need to complete the quest.

Will post more as i get there. Comment by I killed about Zaxxis ethereals south of Area 52 and ended up with 18 keys. Comment by The droprate seems to have been increased somewhat in the latest maintenance patch - I have heard several people comment on it, and I myself found six keys in the time it took to grind 42 Insignias down at The Heap. It might just be coincidental, or it might just be in that particular area, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Comment by Allakhazam if you farm the ethereum nullifiers eventually you will see ethereum jailers appear.

This a. I spent a little over an hour at "the heap" north side closest to area 52 and got 8 of these things very quickly. Comment by Allakhazam The prisons are located in the staging grounds west of manaforge ultris in Netherstorm - They are pink and circular shaped. They are easy to spot when coming from above. Once you unlock the prison you will face a mob who will usually drop a green or blue item and a Ethereum Prisoner ID tag.

This tag you bring to Commander Ameer who is just north of the staging grounds. You will receive consortium rep for this repeatable quest. Edited, Jan 5th am by Eximinator. Comment by Allakhazam okay, so about 8 hours of farming in blade edge mnts I had accumulated a total of 25 prison keys. I decided to bring along some guild mates along for the ride when I opened the stasis chambers in Netherstorm so that they could share in the possible reputation gains, as well as roll on the blue drops.

Interesting in the short 2 or 3 short minutes it took to fight our way from the friendlies north of the staging grounds, to the stasis chambers we had another 5 keys drop.
